LCCA flagship projects
To demonstrate leadership within London, the LCCA develops and promotes flagship projects within the GLA Group. These projects involve the development of low carbon and renewable energy and fuel cells in GLA Group buildings. The aim of the LCCA flagship projects is to 'show by doing' exactly what is feasible in the development of decentralised energy systems using low carbon technologies.
The purpose of these projects is to stimulate the development of low and zero carbon markets that will attract new industries in London and create job opportunities. Low carbon technologies being implemented include renewables, fuel cells, renewable gas and liquid fuels. Going through the development process allows us to test the requirements of the planning system, identify any barriers to development, test and demonstrate performance of new, sometimes pre-commercial technologies, and contribute to the roll out of the Mayor's Climate Change and Energy strategy within London.
