The London Climate Change Agency was established as the primary delivery vehicle for reducing London's carbon dioxide emissions. The objective of the LCCA is to deliver projects that reduce greenhouse gas – mainly carbon dioxide - emissions from London in the sectors of energy, waste, water and transport. The LCCA plays a key role in delivering the Mayor's Climate Change Action Plan and the Mayor's Energy Strategy.
The London Climate Change Agency has been established with the support of the following founders: BP, Lafarge, Legal & General, Sir Robert McAlpine, Johnson Matthey, and the City of London Corporation.
The Agency is also being supported by the Rockefeller Brothers' Trust, KPMG, Greenpeace, The Climate Group, the Carbon Trust and the Energy Saving Trust.
London Climate Change Agency Limited is a company wholly owned and controlled by the London Development Agency.

The Better Buildings Partnership has released its first piece of work - The BBP Guidance on Green Leases. The document was developed by the BBP Green Lease Working Group to provide a clear framework for landlords and occupiers to work together to accelerate CO2 reductions and improve the environmental performance of existing buildings. Based on a Memorandum of Understanding the framework provides flexibility for owners, occupiers and their respective advisors on the level of environmental ambition and the degree of legal formality.

Australian Broadcasting Company 'Catalyst' programme about Allan Jones and his work in tackling climate change both in Woking and in London. The programme - UK Microgen - featured the LCCA's plans to respond to the Mayor's challenge to implement decentralised energy systems in London.
